This comes after Dennis Elbert, who served as dean to the college for 17 years, stepped down to take a faculty role in June. He will focus more on research as the Eugene Dahl Endowed Chair of Innovation and Leadership.

Williams’ research on employee compensation, employee perception of fairness at work, leadership and work-life issues has appeared in psychology journals and she has also served on several editorial review boards. Williams will assume her post Aug. 7.
