A high-risk sex offender moved to Grand Forks this week, according to police.
Michael Philip Kruk is living at the My Place Hotel at 1315 S. 42nd St. He twice was convicted for gross sexual imposition.
Kruk served two years following a 2003 conviction for sexually assaulting the 4- and 6-year-old boys he was babysitting. The sex offender website said he did not progress in treatment and was sent to a residential treatment center. It was discovered in 2005 while Kruk was at the treatment center that he had raped another 10-year-old boy that he had babysat. He also had sexual contact with a 13-year-old child at the center, the offender details said.
Kruk is required to register as a sex offender for life. There are 113 offenders registered with the Grand Forks Police Department, a press release said. Eleven are considered high risk, which means they are the most dangerous or likely to reoffend.
