Ashlee Hewitt, a Lancaster, Minn., native, is one of six acts remaining on NBC-TV's "Nashville Star" competition after the program's sixth show.
On Monday night's live show, Hewitt performed "Take the Money and Run," a song made famous by the Steve Miller Band.
According to RealityTVMagazine.com, 'Star' judges were mixed on Hewitt's performance. "You're one of the only artists that feels like an artist to me," singer-songwriter Jewel said. "I didn't like this performance," said Jeffrey Steele, a Nashville, Tenn., songwriter. But, the Web site said, singer-songwriter John Rich told Hewitt, "I think you just pulled it off wonderfully."
Hewitt and rival contestants Pearl Heart, a sister act, faced possible elimination at show's end, with Pearl Heart being voted off the show.
Contestant Tommy Stanley also was eliminated, at the beginning of the show. Celebrity judges and the public cast votes.
