A Hermantown High School assistant golf coach is charged with providing beer and wine coolers to some of the team's players in their hotel rooms
Twenty-six-year-old Kyle Ernst faces one gross misdemeanor count in Scott County of furnishing alcohol to someone under 21.
Ernst was booked into the Scott County Jail and released Thursday. He told the Duluth News Tribune he had no comment.
Some members of the boys' and girls' golf teams from Hermantown were staying in Shakopee (SHAHK'-uh-pee) after playing the state high school golf tournament in nearby Jordan.
According to the complaint, Ernst told police that members of the golf team were upset about losing the state tournament by one stroke and admitted he went to a store and purchased wine coolers and beer for them.
