- Soup in the Studio: The Global Friends Coalition is hosting Soup in the Studio from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Muddy Waters Clay Center. Each year a different artist will design and create a signature bowl that will be available at the event. The suggested donation is $10 for soup and $25 for a handcrafted bowl and soup. - Pancake breakfast: University Lutheran Church is holding a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. March 15 at the Ground Round, 2800 32nd Ave. S., Grand Forks. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage or bacon and a beverage for $5, which will be used to support a mission trip to Ecuador. Info: (701) 775-4745 .
- Live auction: Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 2 and its Auxiliary will hold their annual fundraising live auction at noon March 15 at the East Grand Forks American Legion, 1009 Central Ave. N.W. Funds raised will be used to support projects for veterans. Info: (218) 791-9613 .
- Fun night fundraiser: The Heritage Foundation (Heritage Village) is holding its Spring Fun Night Fundraiser starting at 5 p.m. March 15 at the VFW in East Grand Forks. Tickets are $25 and will include dinner, a silent auction, games, door prizes and raffle drawings. Info: (218) 773-0471 .
- Medicine chest donations: Northlands Rescue Mission is asking the community to help stock its “medicine chest.” Items such as cold and flu medications that do not contain alcohol, Benadryl, cough drops, Tylenol or ibuprofen, sinus medications and antacids will all help men and women at the shelter stay comfortable and recover as quickly as possible to help keep sickness from spreading. - Transplant fundraiser: Trails4Transplants has started preparation for its annual Charity Ride, a 2,000-mile round trip from Warren, Minn., through North Dakota and Montana and back to Rochester, Minn., on horseback. This year’s dates are set for June 1 to 20. The organization is looking for riders and sponsors to help support the fundraiser, which will be donated to the Gift of Life House in Rochester, Minn., to offset costs of housing for organ recipients in need of financial support. - Lannen fundraiser: Mike Lannen underwent open heart surgery in November to repair his aorta and replace one of his heart valves. A benefit fund has been set up for him and his family at Gate City Bank to help with medical costs. Info: (701) 213-5832 .
