• Benefit for Nick Willett: Friends and family of Nick Willett are planning a spaghetti dinner benefit and silent auction at 11 a.m. Sunday at the VFW Club in Thief River Falls. Willett was seriously injured in a car accident Oct. 25 and currently is being treated at Sister Kenny's Rehabilitation Institute in Minneapolis. Questions/donations: (218) 686-1998.

• UNDSTRONG: The UND Organizational Communication class is raising money to fight cancer by selling T-shirts from Monday through March 2 at the UND Memorial Union. The T-shirts are to be worn at the UND men's hockey games vs. Minnesota State-Mankato on March 2 and March 3. T-shirts will cost $10. UNDSTRONG bracelets will be $2. There will be a raffle to win prizes from area businesses. Checks can be made to UNDSTRONG. All proceeds will benefit LIVESTRONG, a cancer support and advocacy group founded by Lance Armstrong.

• National Pancake Day: Children's Miracle Network hospitals and IHOP restaurants will celebrate National Pancake Day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday with IHOP offering a free short stack of its famous buttermilk pancakes to each guest. In return, diners will be asked to leave a little something behind for MeritCare Children's Hospital. Info: www.IHOPPancakeDay.com .

• Blood donation challenge: The South Forks Lions Club and Dak-Minn Blood Bank are challenging other Greater Grand Forks service organizations to take part in the second annual "Giving from the Heart" blood donation challenge. The challenge will continue through Wednesday at Dak-Minn Blood Bank, 1200 S. Columbia Road (The entrance is near the main entrance of Altru Health System.). The service organization with the most donated pints of blood at the end of the challenge will be named the winner of this year's challenge and will have bragging rights for the year.

• Bill Beavers benefit: A dinner and silent auction benefit for Bill Beavers will begin at 1 p.m. March 18 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Reynolds, N.D. Organizers will serve ham and scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, a roll, bars and coffee for a freewill donation. There also will be a silent auction.

• Enchanted Exchange: The Enchanted Exchange, a program to help teenagers find clothing and accessories for prom is underway at Grand Forks Public Library through March 24. You can help by bringing gently used prom dresses and accessories to the library. Info: (701) 772-8116.
