Furniture drive, Saturday, Grand Forks: The UND Nonprofit Leadership Student Association and Honors Program students are hosting a furniture drive for New American Services, a program of Lutheran Social Services, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The project is occurring in conjunction with The Big Event, UND's annual community service day.
The NLSA and the Honors Program are asking for donations of gently used furniture including, but not limited to, box springs and bed frames, dressers or shelves for clothing storage, kitchen tables and chairs, couches, living room chairs, and lamps. Smaller items such as coffee and end tables, television stands, microwave and microwave stands, and bed-side tables will also be accepted.
The students are also requesting other useful items, such as kitchen and bathroom items, first aid and hygiene items, linens and household materials such as light bulbs, calendar, hangers and cleaning products. Donations can be dropped off Saturday at the northeast entrance of the Hyslop Sports Arena on the UND campus. Follow signs on Second Avenue North to drop-off site.
Benefit for Erika Noll, Monday, Grand Forks: A benefit for Erika Noll, a 16-year-old student at East Grand Forks Senior High School injured in a car accident Jan. 28, will be Monday at Muddy Rivers Ballroom, Townhouse/Guesthouse, Grand Forks. A spaghetti dinner will be from 5 to 6 p.m. with comedy by Bob Cheetah following at 6 p.m. Reservations are welcome. Call (218) 779-8742 or (218) 281-5239.
Community Fundraiser, May 7, Drayton, N.D.: A community fundraiser in Drayton, N.D., the second annual Pre-Mother's Day Shopping Extravaganza, Bake Sale and Silent Auction, will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 7 at the Drayton School gym with more than 20 vendors. Admission: $12 for 12 and older. Concessions available and door prizes.

Mother's Day Breakfast, May 8, Reynolds, N.D.: Team Lazur Family and Friends of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life will sponsor a Mother's Day Breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 8 at the Reynolds, N.D., KC Hall. Egg bake, American fries, toast, rolls, juice and coffee will be served. Tickets: Adults, $10; children 6 to 12, $8; 5 and younger, $4. There also will be a bake sale with ribbon cookies and more.
