Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser in memory of Michael Massie: A Graduation Fundraiser Celebration for cystic fibrosis in memory of Michael Massie is set for 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Grand Forks Central High School commons. Massie, who died at age 15 of cystic fibrosis in April 2009, would have graduated from Central High School this month. In his memory, all funds will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Association for North Dakota. There will be a loaded baked potato bar ($5 or freewill donation), a silent auction, local musicians and more. Janet's Angels Penny a Pin Bowling Fundraiser: A Penny a Pin Bowling Fundraiser sponsored by West Polk County Relay for Life Janet's Angels is set for 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Lanes, East Grand Forks. The cost -- $15 a person or $5 for children younger than 16 with a parent -- includes bowling, pizza and a chance at door prizes; shoes and beverages are extra. Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation golf tournament: The Larimore Golf Course and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation will host a golf tournament with starts at 2 and 6 p.m. June 10, open to all golfers. Registration and fees of $50 per golfer are due by May 19. Dinner is included. Stars for Troops: "Stars for Troops" is a partnership among area Hardee's and the military charities of Homes for Our Troops and USA Cares. Through May 23, participants can donate $1 at Hardee's to help assist military families and veterans and receive $10 worth of restaurant coupons in return. In addition, those who donate will receive a commemorative "Stars for Troops" cut-out to personalize and place on display in the restaurant.
