A maroon and gold cart will be raffled tomorrow in support of student athlete scholarships for the University of Minnesota Crookston at Minakwa Golf Course in Crookston. Raffle tickets are $25 and are available at (218) 281-8436. Ticketholders need not be present to win. The proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Marv and Diane Bachmeier Scholarship and the Mark Olsonawski Scholarship.
Beltrami County's Project Lifesaver has received a donation of $1,000 to assist in supporting the program. The anonymous donation was made by a family familiar with the consequences of cognitive and wandering disease and disorders. Project Lifesaver puts technology and training in the hands of public safety to expedite recovering citizens who suffer from cognitive issues or that are prone to wandering. Erbert and Gerbert's Sandwich Shop is donating to Special Olympics charities through July 31. For every dollar a customer donates, they will receive a dollar in "Comet Cash" to use on their next visit to Erbert and Gerbert's. Customers can receive up to $10 back in Comet Cash. One hundred percent of the donations in the six local stores will go to Special Olympics.
