Head on crash kills St. Thomas man

A 32-year-old St. Thomas, N.D., man died when his vehicle collided head on with a farm tractor carrying a beet harvester early Friday morning on U.S. Highway 81, 10 miles north of Grafton, N.D.

A 32-year-old St. Thomas, N.D., man died when his vehicle collided head on with a farm tractor carrying a beet harvester early Friday morning on U.S. Highway 81, 10 miles north of Grafton, N.D.

Guadalupe Tanguma Jr. was in a 1997 blue Ford Contour heading south at 1:55 a.m. when his vehicle collided head on with a northbound green John Deere 8350 tractor, driven by Craig Adamson, 44, Grafton.

Tanguma was found dead at the scene. His passenger, 20-year-old Carolyn Canto of Corpus Christi, Texas, was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks by Valley Ambulance.

Adamson, who was hauling a 12-row harvester, was not injured.

The accident is still under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
