Two Grand Forks schools will celebrate 50 years this weekend.
Friday, students at Schroeder Middle School will celebrate their school's anniversary with cupcakes, trivia, and a visit from a son of Elroy Schroeder, a former principal and superintendent after whom the school was named.
On Sunday, Ben Franklin Elementary School will host an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. The event is open to current and former principals, teachers, parents and students. There will be children's activities, school tours and opportunities to meet with former teachers.
