A Hallock, Minn., woman was injured early Friday morning in a rollover accident after falling asleep at the wheel in rural Kittson County, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
According to the patrol, Dana Blomquist, 20, told officers she was southbound on U.S. Highway 59 north of Halma when she fell asleep. She woke up on the northbound lane and shoulder and attempted to avoid hitting a sign, but overcorrected and went into the east ditch before her car rolled at about 1:30 a.m.
Blomquist, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, suffered injuries and was taken to the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock. Her condition was unknown Friday evening.
The 2008 Ford Fusion that she was driving was totaled.
