A former Grand Forks man accused of sexually assaulting his wife in May appeared Thursday in state district court in Grand Forks.
Bradley Kaml, 30, now a resident of Greenbush, Minn., is charged with gross sexual imposition and faces a prison sentence of up to 20 years if convicted.
His wife said he performed sexual acts on her while she was unconscious in their south Grand Forks apartment and recorded a video of it. Investigators said Kaml admitted to the act and that he knew she was unconscious.
Magistrate-Judicial Referee David Vigeland set Kaml's bond at $5,000 Thursday.
When the sexual assault charge was filed, Kaml was already in jail, convicted of resisting arrest, spitting on officers and disorderly conduct. He was arrested in July after UND police officers said they found him drunk and "flipping off traffic" on Gateway Drive. He said then that he was separated from his wife.

Kaml is scheduled to be sentenced on those charges April 5.
His preliminary hearing on the new charge is scheduled April 15.
