The Greater Grand Forks Convention and Visitors Bureau has awarded local organizations funds through two grant programs.

The Convention and Tournament Hospitality Grant program awards funds for conventions, meetings and athletic tournaments. Those who received grants included:

• Forx Roller Derby, $500.

• Grand Forks Softball Association Early Bird tournament, $750.

• Grand Forks Police Department's 11th annual Red River Valley Crisis Negotiation Conference, $500.

• North Dakota Pottery Collectors Society Annual Convention and Pottery Road Show, $750.

• North Dakota Bar Association, $600.

• Masonic Grand Lodge of North Dakota, $2,000.

• The Consensus Council, $2,000.

• Grand Forks Rebels Baseball, $250.

• Red River Valley Horse Show Association, $1,000.

• Grand Forks Public Schools, $6,000.

• UND Women and Gender Studies, $500.

• UND College of Engineering and Mines, $750.

The Event Marketing Grant program also awarded the Grand Forks Downtown Development Association $1,547, the Empire Arts Center $2,500 and Alley Alice $3,000. The Event Marketing Grant awards marketing dollars to help promote events in the Grand Forks area.
