Grand Forks police have jailed a 25-year-old Grand Forks woman on a burglary charge.

Sgt. Duane Simon of the Grand Forks Police Department said police were called shortly before 1 p.m. on Friday to an apartment building at 404 Oak St. and gathered information that led to the interview and arrest of Elizabeth Ashley Denault. Police say she entered and pepper-sprayed an occupant.

Although no theft is suspected, Simon said, the combination of "forceful entry" and committing the alleged assault warrants the burglary charge.

Denault is being held at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center pending a court appearance, Simon said.
