Grand Forks gamers hungry to get their hands on a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have put the city in the top 40 American towns for most Amazon.com preorders per capita.
A competition by Amazon will award a $5,000 gift certificate to a local charity for the city with a population of 5,000 or more that has the most preorders per capita, and Grand Forks was leading the country Nov. 2. It has since slipped down in the rankings, and was at No. 13 Friday morning, with Independence, Miss., now in first place.
The video game goes on sale Nov. 10, the same day Amazon will announce its winner of "The Call of Duty-est Town in America."
