The Grand Forks Social Services office will be seeing renovation in the coming months.
The County Commission has given Icon Architectural Group in Grand Forks the go-ahead to begin working on the $50,000 project as soon as possible, but no timelines has been put in place.
Commissioner Gary Malm said the office, which is on the fourth floor of the County Office Building, will be getting a more secure door and a complete overhaul with new carpet and furniture.
Construction will take place at night, he said, to avoid having too many people around sensitive social-services paperwork .
Funding for the project will come from the county’s capital improvements fund.
