Grand Forks County residents may soon be getting a visit from sheriff's deputies.
The Grand Forks County Sheriff's Department is going door-to-door in areas of the county the department believes are at risk of flooding in the coming weeks, the department said in a release.
Sheriff's deputies are visiting with property owners in the hopes of getting their contact information in case an emergency situation arises during the flood.
Deputies will focus on areas between Interstate 29 and the Red River. Townships the sheriff's deputies will visit include Bentru, Walle, Grand Forks, Falconer, Ferry and Turtle River.
If you believe you live in an area that will be affected by flooding and haven't been contacted by a sheriff's deputy yet, call the Grand Forks County Sheriff's office at (701) 708-8280 or email the department at sheriffs.office@gfcounty.org .
