An elementary school in south Grand Forks was locked down Tuesday after a student left the grounds.
Discovery Elementary School locked its doors at 11:20 a.m., Grand Forks School District spokeswoman Tracy Jentz told the Herald. The student was located safe and nearby about 11:55 a.m.
Jentz said instruction continued during the lockdown, which lasted about 20 minutes. She said parents would be notified about the lockdown Tuesday afternoon.
