Grand Forks police interview teen driver in hit-and-run case

Police have identified and interviewed a 15-year-old girl in connection with a hit-and-run car-pedestrian incident Tuesday near Century Elementary School.

Police have identified and interviewed a 15-year-old girl in connection with a hit-and-run car-pedestrian incident Tuesday near Century Elementary School.

A 10-year-old girl suffered minor injuries in the collision, which occurred at about 7:40 a.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of 17th Avenue South, according to a report from Grand Forks Police Department.

The mother of the suspected driver contacted police late Wednesday night, after the police department used its Facebook page to request the public’s assistance in locating possible witnesses or suspects in the hit-and-run crash, according to a news release issued early today.

No citations had been issued, as of early this morning.

The case remains under investigation and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed  the incident to contact the department at (701) 787-8000.

The 10-year-old girl did not require medical treatment for her injuries, according to the report.
