Grand Forks police arrested a man with several outstanding warrants at the 400 block of Cherry Street this afternoon, a police spokesman said.
Lt. Mike Ferguson said officers started searching for the man at 8 a.m. and arrested him around noon. "I wouldn't say there wasn't any resistance."
He would not comment further on the incident, citing an ongoing investigation.
Police indicated there were narcotics officers at the scene, however, when they asked a TV reporter to not record video of those officers, who were in plain clothes.
A few neighborhood residents said they had watched an influx of police cars beginning late in the morning. They said officers blocked off parts of the street for a time.

Claudia Brooke, who lives down the street from the man's house, said she guessed from her observation that police had been searching a long time. "This is an investigation that's been going on for a month."
