A Grand Forks man accused of promoting child porn will serve a year in jail.

Tyler John Woolsey, 29, was sentenced Monday in Grand Forks District Court for promoting sexual performance by minors, a Class B felony. He faced 10 years in prison, but a plea agreement reduced that time.

Police said they found in Woolsey's possession numerous files containing photos and videos of child porn-the images depicted children between the ages of 4 and 14 years he got from a file sharing website, according to court documents.

Woolsey must register as a sex offender.
