Steven Robert Kraft, 48, Grand Forks, is being sought on a charge of aggravated assault for allegedly trying to stab another man in the neck with a pen after learning the man was not Christian.

The two men were in a dayroom at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, according to the police report.

A witness told police that Kraft approached the man and asked, "Do you know who I am? I am the son of Nazareth." Kraft then tried to stab the man, but the victim's necklace deflected the blow, the report said.

Both the investigating officer from the Grand Forks Police Department and the assistant state's attorney from Grand Forks County assigned to the case were unavailable for comment Wednesday afternoon.
