SISSETON, S.D.-A Grand Forks man is facing two years in prison after leaving Minnesota with a child, according to Marshall County Sheriff's Office.

Blake A. S. Baxter, 21, was charged with depriving another of custodial/parental rights, a felony, and contributing to the delinquency of a child, a gross misdemeanor.

Baxter and the child left Marshall County early Thursday, and were arrested Friday near Sisseton by South Dakota troopers, according to a news release.

Baxter is in custody in South Dakota for violating a no-contact order, according to the release.

He is awaiting extradition back to Minnesota to face charges in Marshall County.

The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine. The gross misdemeanor carries a maximum sentence of a year in prison and a $3,000 fine.
