Passenger boardings at Grand Forks International Airport this past year was the highest it has ever been, according to data released by the state Aeronautics Commission.
There were a total of 146,068 boardings in 2013, an 8 percent increase over 2012, the last record year. That's four consecutive record years.
Statewide boardings also broke a record at 1.1 million, a 10.8 percent increase over 2012.
Boardings at individual airports vary widely, ranging from an 11 percent decrease in Devils Lake, which had a total of 2,667 boardings, to a 151.8 percent increase in Williston, which had a total of 94,459.
Among major airports, Fargo had a 9.3 percent increase to 398,677, Bismarck had a 0.6 per-cent increase to 237,683 and Minot had a 1 percent decrease to 222,083.
