With less Community Development Block Grant funds available, a committee is advising the Grand Forks City Council to focus on four areas.
These are housing, health care, seniors and emergency assistance. The committee also suggested preference be given to applicants serving New Americans, American Indians and the disabled.
City staff reports that, in 2015, the city is expected to have $500,000 available in the CDBG program compared to $820,000 this year.
Council members are scheduled to discuss the priorities at their meeting at 5:30 p.m. Mondayat City Hall.
The advisory committee, which includes representatives from nonprofit groups, service clubs and the Chamber of Commerce, will recommend funding to the council based on the council’s priorities.
