The burn ban in Grand Forks County has been extended indefinitely, according to a declaration by the County Commission.
The sheriff's department said especially dry conditions have resulted in a number of rural fires.
The release said any individual who willfully violates the burn bad will be charged with a Class B misdemeanor.
