Grand Forks County to hold sobriety checkpoints

The Grand Forks County Sheriff's Department and state Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in the area 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the patrol said.

Checkpoints are an important law enforcement tool by increasing the perception that there is a higher risk of arrest for would-be drunk drivers, the patrol said.
