With recent rains, Sheriff Bob Rost has lifted the burn ban in place for Grand Forks County.
If conditions change and the area dries out again to a "dangerous level," another burn ban could be put in place, Rost said in a Monday news release.
Residents should contact a local fire department or the Grand Forks County Sheriff's Department before burning so officials are aware, the release said.
The Grand Forks County Commission previously approved Rost's recommendation to implement a burn ban, which went into effect April 5.
