Two companies have expansion plans that would bring 94 new jobs to Grand Forks and Grafton, N.D.

Britton Transport plans build a $3.9 million facility in the Grand Forks Industrial Park and is applying for a $161,538 loan through the Grand Forks Growth Fund.

The company, which was acquired by Winnipeg-based Bison Transport in May 2011, would create 35 jobs paying an average wage of $50,000, including drivers, administrators, and other managers and office personnel, according to its loan application.

The project would be financed through equity, a $2.73 million private loan and a $300,000 loan from the Bank of North Dakota.

Members of the Growth Fund Committee on Tuesday recommended the request be approved by the city Jobs Development Authority.

The committee recommended approval of a similar loan for Lean Technologies of Grafton.

That company plans to purchase equipment to increase its oil-services capacity. The total $6.5 million investment would produce 59 jobs with an average wage of $35,000, according to the company's application.

It is applying for a $40,000 loan from the Growth Fund in addition to similar loans from the Bank of North Dakota and the Walsh County JDA.
