The Grand Forks City Council swore in and seated its newly-elected members Tuesday, and said goodbye to two council mainstays who held top positions on the body.
The council welcomed Bret Weber and Ken Vein, who won seats vacated by Ward 3's representative Eliot Glassheim and Ward 7's Curt Kreun.
With 30 years on the council, Glassheim was the council vice president and its most senior member. Kreun, who served on the council for 12 years, chaired the Service and Safety Committee.
Ward 1's Terry Bjerke and Ward 5's Doug Christensen were also sworn in again after winning their races.
Council members voted to retain Ward 4's Hal Gershman as council president and chose Christensen as vice president.
