Two people were arrested early Tuesday in connection with two burglaries in the Grand Forks area.

Around 3:30 a.m., Grand Forks County sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary in progress at 6398 Driftwood Drive south of the city.

Reports say that the victim was able to lead Grand Forks Police to the suspects' vehicle by following it from a distance, leading to a traffic stop in the Adams Drive area in the city.

Two people in the vehicle have been arrested, Johnnie Simmons, 18, of Grand Forks, and a 17-year-old girl also from Grand Forks.

According to police, the investigation led to the uncovering of another burglary that occurred at 1449 Norland Court earlier that night. The two suspects are also being investigated for this burglary.
