The Roseau Rams girls tennis team went two-and-out at the Minnesota state Class A tournament today.

The Rams lost the opening-round dual 5-2 to Staples-Motley and then lost a consolation dual 5-2 to Maple River.

Breanna Janzen and Amy Olson led highlighted the day for the Rams. The No. 1 doubles team went 2-0. They beat Julia Schock and Ashley Lisson of Staples-Motley 7-5, 6-2 and then topped Tabitha Woitas and MacKenzie Volz of Maple River 6-3, 6-1.

Roseau's other win in the first-round was by No. 3 singles player Taylor McFarlane. She beat Staples-Motley's Andrea Koskiniemi 7-5, 6-4. Kristen Mlodzik and Ingrid Mldzik provided Roseau's second win in the consolation dual at No. 3 doubles, winning in straight sets.
