Girl, 5, killed in Interstate 35 crash identified

ELKO, Minn. -- A St. Paul girl has been identified as the child killed Sunday night in a rollover accident on icy Interstate 35 north of Elko.

Marshunna Audreyunna Henderson, 5, was pronounced dead at the scene after a 2002 GMC Yukon lost control around 245th Street and rolled into the ditch about 8:15 p.m. Sunday. The girl was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Another child, 9-year-old Javeon L. Davis, was thrown from the middle seat of the vehicle and airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries. He also wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

Also hurt in the crash was Steven Davis Jr., 12, whose injuries weren’t life-threatening, the State Patrol said.

Three adults and a toddler in the vehicle weren’t hurt. They include the driver, Anthony D. Walker, 33, and passengers Donita M. McHie, 28, Krystle R. Walker, 33, and 3-year-old Wamaya K. Henderson. All of the occupants of the vehicle live in St. Paul, according to the State Patrol.
