Grand Forks police reported that a woman was hospitalized Wednesday after she was assaulted by her brother in an apartment building.
Officers were dispatched shortly after 1 p.m. to the building at 1950 S. 34th St., where a caller had reported that a woman was unresponsive and was lying on the floor of a hallway.
"She was always breathing. We think she was just unconscious," Sgt. Tom Laughlin said.
Laughlin said the woman was bleeding from her nose, but did not know if she regained consciousness or if she had other injuries. Weapons were not involved in the incident, Laughlin said.
Police did not release the woman's name or age. Lt. Grant Schiller said she was taken to Altru Hospital where she underwent a CT scan.

Laughlin said investigators were trying to interview the woman at the hospital, but did not know if they were able to.
Schiller said the woman's brother, Abdifatah Issa, was arrested at the apartment and interviewed by police with the help of a Somali interpreter.
Issa, 20, was booked into the Grand Forks County jail on suspicion of committing aggravated assault. A message left for him there was not immediately returned. He is expected to appear in court today.
Schiller said Issa suffered minor injuries, and consequently, his sister may also face charges. Schiller said the dispute may have been over a computer.
Police believe the altercation started in the apartment, where Issa and his sister live, and moved into the hallway, Laughlin said.
"I think by tomorrow we'll know a lot more about what happened," Schiller said.
