UPDATED: Grand Forks police said they are investigating a report that a man showed a weapon to the desk clerk at the Clarion Inn, in the former Holiday Inn, about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, took the money and ran.

Sgt. Derek Zimmel said late Sunday night that because of the investigation, little information is being released yet, including what kind of weapon was seen.

But nobody got hurt, Zimmel said.

His report said that motel clerk told police that "a male suspect had brandished a weapon, demanded money and fled the scene." No other description of the robber was given.

No one has been arrested.
