A houseguest suspected of cutting her host with a kitchen knife in a downtown apartment was arrested Tuesday, according to a release from the Grand Forks Police Department.
Theresa Barth, 29, allegedly cut Claressa Ivy, 46, on the back Monday, leaving a superficial wound, the police reported.
Further investigation revealed Ivy's husband, Ed Martinez, who also lives in the apartment, received injuries consistent with a stabbing. It appears he was injured about the same time as his wife, the release states.
Barth fled the Ryan House Apartments, 23 N. Third St., after the incident. Police searched the area Monday but could not find her.
Barth returned to the apartment Tuesday afternoon to speak to Ivy, who promptly called 911. Barth was apprehended without incident a short time later, the release states.
