A Grand Forks man charged with assaulting a police officer pleaded not guilty Wednesday in state district court and was scheduled for a pre-trial conference June 2.
Neil Ostlie, 33, was charged with assaulting Grand Forks Police Officer Lindsay Wold in March when she broke up an assault by Ostlie on a woman he had dated.
He faces charges of simple assault on a police officer -- which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison -- as well as assault on the woman and preventing arrest.
He was arraigned Wednesday on the charges in state district court in Grand Forks and pleaded not guilty.
He remains in the Grand Forks County jail under a $7,500 bond.
