A Grand Forks man accused of raping a 64-year-old woman pleaded not guilty Monday.
A police affidavit says Robert Rhode had known the victim for several years. He came to her Grand Forks home intoxicated the evening of Nov. 15, took her into her bedroom and raped her, the affidavit states.
Rhode, 43, told police he was at the woman's home while intoxicated but denied having intercourse with her, the affidavit says.
Rhode is being held at the Grand Forks County jail on a $10,000 bond. He has a pretrial hearing July 22.
He's charged with gross sexual imposition, a Class AA felony with a maximum penalty of life in prison.
