A Grand Forks man was cited for failing to yield Sunday night when he pulled out in front of a motorcycle on Richland County 81, or "Old Highway 81," near Christine, N.D., south of Fargo.
Andrea Deschamp, 30, injured her hip when the 2005 Harley Davidson she was driving south couldn't avoid colliding with Daniel Lindblad's pickup.
Old Highway 81 runs about two miles east of, and parallel to, Interstate 29.
According to Trooper Jeremy Buehre of the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Lindblad, 35, was west bound on a county road about 8:20 p.m. in a pickup truck when he stopped for the stop sign on 81, then pulled out in front of Deschamp.
Lindblad said he didn't see the motorcycle, which couldn't avoid hitting the pickup, Buehre said. Deschamp, of West Fargo, remained in Meritcare Hospital Monday night, recovering from her injuries. A condition report wasn't immediately available, a nursing supervisor said.
