Fee increases are before the Grand Forks City Council again tonight, but this time, it appears there is some agreement over what they might be.
The council meets at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall.
The fees issue has bounced back and forth between the council and its committees because some council members felt the increases were arbitrary, some up 20 percent, some up 3 percent, some not changing at all.
Council policy has been to peg fees to inflation.
But, after staff explained how it arrived at the increases, they cleared both committees. Most fee increases went up about 3 percent, but were rounded up to the nearest $1 or $5. Others were approved months before by the council.
