FARGO

A West Fargo, N.D., man was arrested early today after a garage in rural Cass County was destroyed by fire.

Chief Sheriff's Deputy Jim Thoreson said the fire at the Scott Longlet farm south of Arthur on Highway 18 was reported just before midnight.

Thoreson said when deputies got to the scene, Longlet told them his pickup had been stolen.

Authorities later arrested 22-year-old Joshua Lewis, who was arrested on suspicion of arson, theft of a motor vehicle and driving under suspension.

Thoreson said the vehicle Lewis was in earlier in the night ran out of gas near Longlet's farm.

He said when Lewis got to Longlet's garage, he used a lighter or match to look for gas and started the garage on fire.

Lewis was spotted by a deputy near the Pepsi Soccer Complex in north Fargo.

He ran from the truck but was later arrested at an apartment in West Fargo, Thoreson said.
