Future of Grand Forks highlighted at Downtown Day

The future of Grand Forks was highlighted Thursday at an event downtown. Hazel Borys, a Winnipeg-based managing director for planning and design firm PlaceMakers, spoke about the city's progress and what it can accomplish in the future at Downtown Day at the Empire Arts Center. Downtown Day offers a chance for the community to celebrate downtown and learn more about the Downtown Development Association, which puts on the event. Past speakers have included Chuck Marohn, founder of the national organization Strong Towns, and DDA members. Visitors were entertained by ELITE Dance Crew and also attended a social featuring several downtown restaurants, including The Toasted Frog and Rhombus Guys Brewing Co.
