CARRINGTON, N.D.-A Bottineau man is in custody after a chase that neared 100 mph in Foster and Eddy counties on Friday night.

Deputies from the Foster County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop 27-year-old Ryan Lindquist about 11:30 p.m. Friday when he began to flee in his vehicle from the scene of a traffic stop, according to a release from Foster County State's Attorney Paul Murphy.

The pursuit continued north of Carrington and into Eddy County, where local authorities began assisting in the chase along with a North Dakota Game and Fish officer who is also a former sheriff's deputy.

Lindquist's vehicle got stuck in mud and he was apprehended by authorities.

While trying to get Lindquist in custody, a Foster County sheriff's deputy was attacked by a dog that was in Lindquist's vehicle, Murphy said in the release. A bulletproof vest kept the deputy from being injured.

Lindquist is charged with fleeing, possession of meth and meth paraphernalia, resisting arrest, reckless driving and felon in a possession of ammunition.

Lindquist was booked in the Stutsman County Correctional Center in Jamestown and a hold was placed on him by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives because of a federal warrant.

In a media release, Foster County Sheriff Ian Mattice commended his deputies for "acting professionally and appropriately under extreme, hazardous and dangerous conditions."
