The Fosston, Minn., City Hall has been renamed the Arvid Clementson Municipal Office Building in honor of the man who was Fosston's mayor for 34 years.
The Fosston City Council voted last week to honor Clementson, who died in office in 2006 at age 81.
"He was a big believer in Fosston," said Jim Offerdahl, who replaced Clementson as mayor. "No one has ever done more for this town."
According to Offerdahl, the mayor popularly known as "Clem," played a role in the additions or improvements of the civic center, hospital, retirement/assisted living home, industrial park and library.
