VALLEY CITY, N.D. -- A former AmericInn employee suspected in a burglary Monday at the Valley City hotel turned himself in early Wednesday, Valley City police said.

Paul Jacob Myles, 26, of Valley City, surrendered at the Valley City police station at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday. A warrant had been issued Tuesday for his arrest on charges of burglary, theft of property and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

Myles was transported to the Barnes County Corrections Center and booked.

Police said that about 3:50 a.m. Monday, a man entered the hotel lobby, got behind the counter, and left with cash from the till and the business safe. He was only able to carry the safe out the back door and across the parking lot before dropping it.
