The Grand Forks Police Department reminds motorists it is illegal to park on berms within the city limits.

Football fans attending Saturday's Potato Bowl game at the Alerus Center are required to pay a $5 parking fee in the Alerus Center's parking lot, or they can park for free in the Chester Fritz parking lot and take a UND shuttle bus to the game.

Any vehicle parked illegally will be ticketed, police warn.

The berm is generally described as the area between the sidewalk and street, but also includes areas adjacent to roadways, such as along 42nd Street near the Alerus Center.
