Five Minnesota National Guard soldiers from the Litchfield, Minn., unit have been wounded in an attack in Afghanistan.
The five are members of the 849th Mobility Augmentation Company based in Litchfield. The unit deployed 95 members to Afghanistan last July. They are scheduled to return home sometime this summer.
The soldiers were injured Monday, at 10:30 a.m. Afghanistan time, during an attack on Forward Operating Base Pasab in Kandahar Province, according to a statement from Lt. Col. Kevin Olson, spokesman for the Minnesota National Guard.
One soldier is recovering at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, and the four others are recovering in Afghanistan. Privacy regulations prevent the Minnesota National Guard from releasing the soldier's names or medical conditions.
