Smoke coming from the ceiling at Ralph Engelstad Arena prompted a response from Grand Forks firefighters Wednesday.
A heating coil apparently shorted out and caused some smoke to come from the ceiling of the concession manager’s office, said Jody Hodgson, the arena’s general manager. There were no flames, he said.
The fire department received the initial call just before noon Wednesday, but firefighters appeared to be on scene for less than half an hour.
