OWATONNA, Minn. -- A fiery three-vehicle crash shut down part of Interstate 35 south of the Twin Cities on Thursday, but no one involved -- including a 7-year-old child -- was injured, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

A Saturn driven by Lani Manion, 32, of Mankato, and a tractor-trailer driven by Kelly McCulloch, 43, of Brainerd, were stopped in traffic when another semi rear-ended the Saturn, setting off a chain reaction, a State Patrol report said. The two trucks caught fire.

Traffic in the northbound lanes had to be detoured south of Owatonna in Steele County.
